What’s Open and Closed Today in Ditmas Park?
As the winds pick up and the weather gets worse, many businesses are closed today but a few neighborhood businesses are open for now. We called around the area to see who was still at work this morning.
City schools and subways will be closed again on Tuesday, says Mayor Bloomberg.
Open:
• The Flatbush Food Co-op will be open until 3pm.
• Key Food on Foster Avenue and Rugby Road will be open until 3pm.
• Almac Hardware in Newkirk Plaza will be open until noon.
• C-Town on Church Avenue is open but employees have “no idea” when it will close.
• C-Town on Coney Island Avenue is open and hopes to stay that way until 8pm depending on weather.
• C-Town on East 16th Street between Foster and Newkirk will be staying “open all day if everything goes fine.”
• Salahi on Cortelyou Road is open.
• John’s Bakery on Cortelyou Road open and will remain open depending on the weather.
• Rite Aid on Newkirk at Marlborough is open.
• Bodegas, pharmacy and grocery open on Foster.
• San Remo Pizzeria is open until 10pm depending on the weather.
• Sycamore will be open at 1pm.
• Open in Newkirk Plaza as of 10:45am: Dunkin Donuts, Pablo’s Restaurant, Dunkin Donuts, Subway, both 99 Cent stores, Plaza Gourmet Deli & Newkirk Grocery, Plaza Gourmet Foods, Plaza Deli & Grocery and Marlboro Car Service.
• Much of Cortelyou Road is still open including Dunkin Donuts, Duane Reed, Cortelyou Cleaners, Cortelyou Wine & Liquors and Met Foods.
• Kabir Bakery on Foster Avenue is open.
• Many of the grocery stores and bodegas around the neighborhood are open.
Closed:
• T.B. Ackerson is closed “until the storm has passed.”
• Am Thai Bistro is closed.
• Cafe Madeline is closed.
• Ox Cart Tavern is closed tonight, will decide about tomorrow later.
• Midwood Martial Arts & Family Fitness Center is closed.
• Lark is closed today, will decide about tomorrow later.
• Prospect Park is closed until further notice.
• Many stores and restaurants around the area did not answer their phones.
