BAY RIDGE – A West Brighton man was dragged to death by a motorist in Bay Ridge after a road-rage confrontation following a collision at 65th & 3rd Ave last night.

Police responded to a call of a motor vehicle accident with a pedestrian hit at 67th Street & 3rd Avenue around 9:15 pm last night, November 9. On arrival, police found a 65-year old Gavriel Mardaknayevy lying in the street with trauma to his body, said the NYPD.

EMS transported Mardaknayevy to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased, said police. The 55-year old driver of the vehicle that struck Mardaknayevy was taken into custody at the scene.

A further investigation of the incident revealed that the two vehicles had been in an accident a few blocks away and had stopped at the intersection of 65th & 3rd, said police. After the accident, Gavriel Mardaknayevy exited the passenger seat of his vehicle, which his wife was driving, and walked in front of the second vehicle to confront the driver.

Police said the second driver accellerated with Mardaknayevy in front of his car, striking the man and dragging him for two blocks to 67th Street. The investigation into the incident is ongoing and charges are pending against the second driver.
