Looking for something to do with the whole family this week? There are a lot of great kid-friendly events coming up in Brooklyn, and we’ve selected some of our favorites. See the full details below!

Movies @ The Library
When: Wednesday, October 14, 4pm
Where: Pacific Library, 25 4th Avenue, Park Slope
What: Bring the children to relax at the library for a bit with a kid-friendly flick.
How Much: Free!

First Five Years Kids Create: Make A Face!
When: Thursday, October 15, 4pm
Where: Clinton Hill Library, 380 Washington Avenue
What: Kids from birth to age five (and their caregivers) will get into some easy crafts — this time, making funny faces out of ordinary objects.
How Much: Free!

Ezra Jack Keats Bedtime Stories
When: Thursday, October 15, 7pm
Where: Central Library, 10 Grand Army Plaza, Park Slope
What: Enjoy Ezra Jack Keats-themed stories, songs, and activities — plus, each child will go home with one of the author’s books.
How Much: Free!

Mythic Meal
Where: JJ Byrne Playground, 336 3rd Street, Park Slope
When: Saturday, October 17, 10am-12pm
What: Mmmm, pancakes! Come stuff yourself silly at this “friendraiser” breakfast that will support the playground. In the holiday spirit, kids are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite characters, bring costumes to swap, get their faces painted, and make banners for the Halloween Parade, which marches along 5th Avenue later this month.
How Much: $10 for adults, $5 for kids; plus, mimosas available for a little more!

Great American Book Drive
Where: Central Library, 10 Grand Army Plaza
When: Saturday, October 17, 10am-3pm
What: Got a voracious little reader? Grab books for $1, plus hear live music, and enjoy crafts, and all for a good cause, as the Brooklyn Public Library will get part of every sale. Got books to unload? You can drop off donations at the library anytime leading up to the event!
How Much: Free admission.

Story Time: Michael Gervais
When: Saturday, October 17, 11am
Where: Greenlight Bookstore, 686 Fulton Street, Fort Greene
What: Local author Michael Gervais, a teacher at Fort Greene’s Community Roots Charter School, will present his new book, The Barefoot Champion, with an interactive story time reading for kids ages 3-8, and will work with them on a craft designing their own basketball shoes.
How Much: Free!

Introduction To Bird Watching
Where: Audubon Center in Prospect Park
When: Saturdays & Sundays through November, 12-1pm
What: Fall is an awesome time to spot birds that are migrating through Brooklyn’s big backyard! Enjoy a tour by a pro from the Brooklyn Bird Club, and let the kids ask them all the questions they want.
How Much: Free!

Calpulli Youth Dance
When: Saturday, October 17, 1pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: The youth members of this group, outfitted in traditional costumes, will perform selections from different regions of Mexico-Jalisco, set to the music of the mariachi.
How Much: Free!

Sunday Story Time: Gianna Marino
When: Sunday, October 11, 11:30am
Where: PowerHouse on 8th, 1111 8th Avenue, South Slope
What: Come hang with the author of Night Animals, about a bunch of critters who are scared of the creatures that go bump in the night (even though, really, that’s them!).
How Much: Free!

Sing Along With Amy Miles
When: Sunday, October 11, 10am
Where: Lark Cafe, 1007 Church Avenue, Ditmas Park
What: The busy Brooklyn composer and performer plays original and cover songs on guitar, ukulele, and percussive things, singing stories with puppets and bubbles, for a fun interactive show.
How Much: $8 per family.
