This Weekend’s Fort Greene-Clinton Hill Open House Picks
We’ve rounded up some of the more interesting open houses happening around Fort Greene and Clinton Hill this weekend. Any thoughts on these places?
101 Lafayette Avenue #5E
List Price: $379,000
Size: One bedroom, one bathroom
Details: This unit at The Griffin is as lovely as expected with its gorgeous casement windows, nice wood floors, and other bits of architectural interest. The building is also right around the corner from all the shopping, dining, and transportation options you could need near Fowler Square, it has a doorman and communal laundry facilities, and its flexible co-op policies mean you can sublet and you won’t have to sweat it out too much while the board considers your application.
Open House: Sunday, December 14, 2-4pm
91 Grand Avenue #5C
List Price: $849,000, $609 common charges
Size: Two bedrooms, two bathrooms
Details: This space in the recently converted Clinton Lofts is the most expensive per bedroom this week, but if you’re into new-ish things, industrial-ish things, or just as many bathrooms as there are (multiple) bedrooms, it might be the one for you. Set between Myrtle and Park Avenues amidst a serious building boom, you may have to face a certain amount of nearby construction–but you can also be sure even more businesses and other amenities will be moving into the area to accommodate the influx of residents. Sound good?
Open House: Sunday, December 14, 1:30-3:30pm
226 Saint James Place #2L
List Price: $855,000, $518 common charges
Size: Three bedrooms, one bathroom
Details: Now this is our speed! Three bedrooms for about the price of the two bedroom above and with character for days, the only thing we’d change about this condo is the number of bathrooms (and okay, maybe the numbers on our bank statements)–but we suppose that’d mean a price change, too. Besides its lovely interior, this unit is set in a building close to the Clinton-Washington C stop and all of the existing and emerging goodness on that stretch of Fulton. We’ll be dreaming about this one for a while.
Open House: Sunday, December 14, 1-2pm
34 Monroe Street
List Price: $1,195,000
Size: Five bedrooms, three bathrooms split over two units
Details: Not that it’s a small price, but it’s not often these days we see houses in Brooklyn for under $1.2 million. A possible explanation for the ask on this house, which verges juuuuuust across the Clinton Hill-Bed Stuy line, is that it looks like it will need some work–but that also means you’ll have a chance to put your personal stamp on it! And to help you pay off that mortgage and renovation bill? The three bedroom rental unit that might just need some tenants.
Open House: Sunday, December 14, 12-1:30pm
