Brooklyn Shows Off Italian Spirit At This Weekend’s Columbus Day Parade [Photos]

The rainy weather couldn’t dampen Brooklyn’s spirits at the borough’s annual Columbus Day Parade this past weekend. The festive affair, which took place along 18th Avenue (also known as Cristoforo Colombo Boulevard) featured floats and families, flag-bearing cars and marching bands, all in celebration of Bensonhurst’s Italian heritage and the borough’s dynamic energy and diversity.

For Woodside resident and madforitaly.net founder Leonardo Metalli, who attended the event in his proudly Italian Maserati, highlights of the day were the mayor, police, and fire department’s presence.

Relive, or vicariously enjoy the parade through the joyous photos and video below.
