Looking for a new place to call home? Bensonhurst Bean has got you covered. If you’re house hunting, our open house roundup is a new feature to help you plan your weekend. And if you know of a great place on the market or are a broker representing a property you want included, contact advertising [at]sheepsheadbites [dot]com.

387 Avenue S #4B
List Price: $169,000, $524 maintenance
Size: One bedroom, one bathroom
Details: This 760 sq ft place near the Kings Highway F, McDonald Park Playground and Tennis Center, and no shortage of shopping features has nice prewar molding and pretty hardwood floors (photos here if you, like us, can’t see them at the original listing). Though the kitchen could use a few cosmetic updates, it’s off to a good start with a window and breakfast nook–and we don’t hate a windowed bathroom, either. As for building policies, pets are welcome and subletting is allowed after two years.
Open House: Saturday, January 10, 11am-1pm

1529 Independence Avenue #1
List Price: $265,000
Size: One bedroom, one bathroom
Details: This spot for one is a bit more modern than its competition above, what with its new flooring, updated kitchen, and in-unit laundry facilities. While it’s not close to any subways, it is near a Manhattan express bus–and there’s a building parking garage, too, albeit with a waiting list. Pets are also allowed here, plus there’s mention of a patio, and it’s a short walk to both Bath and Dyker Beach Parks–where you (and Fluffy) can enjoy the warmer months.
Open House: Sunday, January 11, 1-3pm

1638 Benson Avenue
List Price: $950,000
Size: Four bedrooms, two bathrooms
Details: Photos of this detached home make it look a little dated to say the least, but there’s plenty of potential if you’re looking for a place to personalize. The basement looks to have a second kitchen, which could make for decent in-law-type accommodations or (at least the beginnings of) a legal income unit. When it comes to outdoor space, there’s a big yard, a second floor terrace, and a three car driveway, plus you’ll be close to shopping and dining on both 18th Avenue and 86th Street.
Open House: Saturday, January 10, 1-3pm

860 70th Street
List Price: $1,088,000
Size: Four bedrooms, two bathrooms
Details: This Dyker Heights row home looks nice and spacious, though judging by the photos, it doesn’t look like it’s been “renovated all throughout”–at least not in the last 25 years. Still, even the outdated bathrooms look pleasantly roomy, and the mechanicals (windows, electrical, roof, etc.) sound to be in good shape. Finally, we can’t deny that location by McKinley Park and Fort Hamilton Parkway amenities–so maybe it’s worth a peek.
Open House: Sunday, January 11, 1-3pm
