What: Soulful vocals meet stripped down folk arrangements in the gorgeously mellow sounds of Jaime Woods. With a honeyed voice honed while singing in Chicago gospel groups and at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Woods—along with her guitarist brother Daniel—performs an eclectic mix of originals and covers by artists ranging from The Impressions to Little Dragon.

Brooklyn Flea Fort Greene

What: The Flea’s Fort Greene flagship location features 150 vendors every Saturday from April through November. The 40,000-square-foot schoolyard at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School is part vintage bazaar, part hipster hang, part old-fashioned town square, and part food bonanza.

What: Pablo’s first day in a New York City school quickly goes off the rails during a field trip to the Empire State Building. Where: BRIC House at 647 Fulton Street
What: Celebrate spring and warmer weather during our all-day, all-ages House Party with family-friendly live music, film screenings, dance classes, art-making and more. BAMcafé Live: Bowmont

Where: BAM Peter Jay Sharp Building at 30 Lafayette Avenue
What: Richly textured electronica meets dream-pop in the lustrous, cinematic soundscapes of Brooklyn’s Bowmont. The project of Danish singer and multi-instrumentalist Emil Bovbjerg, Grammy Award-winning Belgian engineer Jeremy Loucas, and German guitarist Elias Meister, Bowmont’s ethereal anthems wrap danceable beats in a gorgeously gauzy sonic haze.

Classical Interludes: Ustad Shafaat Khan
When: Sunday, April 12 at 4pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center at Grand Army Plaza
What: Khan performs Indian classical music featuring the sitar, surbuhar and tabla. Khan’s musical heritage can be traced to the 16th century court of the Mughal emperor Akbar. He is the son of the legendary maestro Ustad Imrat Khan and the nephew of Ustad Vilayat Khan. He is the foremost tabla disciple of Ustad Ibrahim Khan. Ages 6 and up.

ONGOING

Stations of the Cross Exhibit
When: Through April 16
Where: Episcopal Church of St. Luke and St. Matthew at 520 Clinton Avenue
What: The 14 stations of the cross are presented by 14 Brooklyn-based artists, each working with only one restriction: uniform size.  This project resurrects a connection between the church as patron of the arts and the artists as instruments of bringing the litany to the lay population. These works are created by artists of broad ethnic and religious backgrounds including Buddhists, Catholics, Jews, and even Agnostics. As “ambassadors,” this diverse collective presents an open dialogue, with respectful interpretations of Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection.

Mapping Brooklyn
When: Through May 3 from 10am-8pm daily, except Mondays
Where: BRIC House Gallery at 647 Fulton Street
What: The exhibition Mapping Brooklyn will juxtapose the work of contemporary artists working with maps and cartography, alongside actual historic maps. The historic maps in the exhibition will all be drawn from the Brooklyn Historical Society’s collection; there are demographic maps, fire insurance maps and more.
