Celebrate Brooklyn! Jon Batiste and Stay Human & Friends
When: Friday, July 22 at 7:30pm
Where: Prospect Park Bandshell, enter at 9th street and Prospect Park West.
What: New Orleans-bred musician Jon Batiste, music director and bandleader on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, rocks the park with his band, and a collection of special mystery-guests.
How Much: Free

Inside Caribbean Culture Art Show
When: Friday, July 22 from 5pm to 10pm
Where: Caribbeing House, 794 Flatbush Avenue between Caton Avenue and Lenox Road.
What: An evening of Caribbean art and cocktails, in collaboration with Caribbean Fine Art Fair, including art and miniaturized sculptures by featured Artists: Bernard Stanley Hoyes (Jamaica), Earl Darius Etienne (Dominica), and Alfred Weekes (Barbados).
How Much: Free

Lola Star’s Dreamland Roller Disco at Lefrak Skating Center
When: Friday, July 22 from 7:30pm to 10pm
Where: Lefrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park.
What: Roll-bounce to your favorite classic skate grooves at Lola Star’s Dreamland Roller Disco, with retro DJ sets and prizes for roller dancing skills. (This event is 21+)
How Much: $18 per person

Live Music at Bar Chord
When: Friday, July 22 at 10pm
Where: Bar Chord, 1003 Cortelyou Road between Coney Island Avenue and Stratford Road.
What: Pop and soul band Jules and the Jinx electrifies our neighborhood music venue + bar,  Bar Chord.
How Much: Free show, but don’t forget the drinks at the bar.

Ditmas Park Kids Creative Arts Therapy
When: Saturday, July 23 at 3:00pm
Where: Cortelyou Public Library, 1305 Cortelyou Road at Argyle Road.
What: A fun afternoon of art and dance with the Ditmas Park Creative Arts Therapy, with the mediums mask making and creative dance. Come prepared to explore artistic expression, but all are welcome to join — no experience necessary.
How Much: Free

Celebrate Brooklyn! Femi Kuti / Bombino
When: Saturday, July 23 at 7:30pm
Where: Prospect Park Bandshell, enter at 9th street and Prospect Park West.
What: Join Femi Kuti, son of Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, and Nigerian musician Bombino, for a night of powerhouse musicians at the bandshell.
How Much: Free

Summer Beer and Taco Party at Sycamore
When: Sunday, July 24 from 3pm to 8pm
Where: Sycamore Bar, 1118 Cortelyou Road between Stratford and Westminster Roads.
What: Eat delicious tacos by La Chiflada, chocolate from Harlem Chocolate Factory and ice pops from City Sticks to support the Accion Microfinance Leadership Council for their annual summer fundraiser. Proceeds from beer and taco sales will support Accion’s lending programs in New York City.
