Weekend Crime Blotter: A Bank Robbery in Bensonhurst, A Subway Creep at Broadway Junction & More

EAST NEW YORK – Last night, at 11:00 pm, police arrested Crystal Wilson, 31, in the 75th Precinct.

Wilson, an NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agent, was charged with assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, police said.


BENSONHURST – Police are looking for the man who robbed a Santander Bank in Bensonhurst over the weekend.

The robbery took place around 10:30 am on Saturday, September 29, said police, when the suspect entered the bank at 1769 86th Street, at 18th Avenue, and produced a demand note.

The teller complied with the note, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash to the man, who was wearing a hat and sunglasses. No weapon was used in the robbery and there were no injuries, said police.

WILLIAMSBURG – The day before, up in North Brooklyn, another would-be bank robber hit a bank to demand money, but wasn’t as successful as his Southern Brooklyn counterpart…

The attempted robbery took place on Friday, September 28, around 3:40 pm, said police. The suspect entered the Chase Bank at 12 Graham Avenue, across from the Woodhull Hospital, and passed a note to the teller demanding money.

Unfortunately for the thief, something went wrong, and he fled the scene before the teller would hand over any cash. A photo of the would-be robber can be seen below:

BUSHWICK – After a morning subway rider groped a passenger on a southbound L train earlier this month, police are circulating a photo of the suspect in hopes of tracking him down.

The incident occurred at 8:40 on Saturday, September 15, said police, on an L train approaching Broadway Junction. Approaching the 27-year-old female victim, the suspect groped her breasts and buttocks, police said.

While the suspect detrained at Broadway Junction, the victim remained aboard the train, police said. A photo of the suspect can be seen below:

DOWNTOWN – After a robbery last month at the Nevins Street subway station, police have one suspect in custody, but are now looking for the second.

On Tuesday, August 14, around noon, two suspects assaulted and robbed a 19-year old man inside the subway station, said police. The two approached the victim and demanded his property—when he refused, the first suspect threatened to stab the victim, then punched him in the face and stole his phone. The second suspect removed the man’s backpack as well and the two robbers fled.

Later that night, police arrested 17-year-old Tajhion Harrigan in connection with the incident, charging him with robbery. They’re still looking for the second suspect, whose picture can be seen below:

BRIGHTON BEACH – Finally, police are looking for a man who grabbed a woman’s breasts outside a Coney Island Avenue cafe earlier this summer.

According to police, the incident took place on Friday, July 27, a little before 3:00 in the afternoon, outside the Cafe Paris at 3178 Coney Island Avenue. The suspect approached a 24-year old woman and grabbed her breasts before fleeing the scene, police said.
