Weekend Crime Blotter: Firefighter Assaults Man Over Spoiled Selfie, Job-Seeker Brings Gun Instead of Resume & More
WILLIAMSBURG – Police have made an arrest in the death of Jose Osorio, 19, who was shot and killed in Williamsburg last December. The shooting that claimed Osorio’s life took place on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, and left another victim shot in the shoulder.
Last week, police arrested Donovan Boomer, 25, and charged him in connection with the crime. Boomer, who lives in Queens, was charged with murder, attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
CROWN HEIGHTS – An FDNY firefighter was arrest last Friday and charged with assault and harassment, police confirmed. The incident occurred outside Medgar Evers College around 9:30 am on Friday, June 1.
Kenneth Boyke, 43, was cuffed after allegedly punching a man following an argument. The cause of the scuffle? The victim’s wife apparently walked through a selfie Boyke was taking, ruining the picture, according to the New York Post.
GOWANUS – Police are looking for a man who perpetrated a drive-by groping on a woman while he rode a bicycle down 4th Avenue late last month.
The sexual assault occurred around 5:30 pm on Wednesday, May 23. The 33-year old victim was walking down 4th Avenue towards 3rd Street when a man on a bicycle rode up to her, grabbed her buttocks and groin, then rode off, said police.

PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDENS – Police are still on the lookout for the rooftop-prowling burglar groped a woman through her open window, then tried to climb into bed with her, claiming he was a police officer.
The incident occurred in the are of Clarkson and Rogers Avenues. Additional video of the suspect has been released by the NYPD and can be seen below:
SUNSET PARK – Finally, police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who held up a Sunset Park business at gunpoint mid-May.
The robbery took place at Yeung Trading Co, 215 51st Street, around 5:30 pm on Friday, May 18. The suspect entered the building and approached a 44-year old male employee, pretending to ask about a job, said police. But instead of pulling out his resume, the suspect pulled a gun and demanded cash—and got about $13,000.
Luckily, there were no injuries from the robbery, said police. Surveillance video of the suspect can be seen below:
