We’re counting down the days until 2014 is officially behind us, and if you’re looking for some last-ditch ideas for how to make the end of the year the most fun part of yours, we’ve rounded up a few of the events coming up this week in the neighborhood, from sex ed comedy and trivia to New Year’s Eve parties, and more:

Can’t Stand Trivia
When: Monday, December 29, 7pm
Where: The Gate, 321 5th Avenue
What: Swing by tonight for a few rounds of trivia during the last event of the year — there’s a chance not only to win booze, but also wings from Bonnie’s. The only catch, of course, is that you’ve got to win — so assemble your smartest friends, stat.
How much: Free!

The Wonderful World Of Boning: Sex Ed With A Sense Of Humor
When: Tuesday, December 30, 8pm
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: Writer, sex educator, and funny lady Lux Alptraum teams up with comedian friends — this time, it’s Sara Benincasa and Mike Brown — screen and comment on classic sex education videos, diving into the truly important issues, like “puberty, sexual health, and what’s happening down at the STI clinic.”
How much: $8, tickets available in advance.

NYE Family Movie Time
When: Wednesday, December 31, 10:30am
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue
What: Start the party early and ‘let it go’ at the Park Slope Library’s NYE family move time. The film? Disney’s Frozen. Don’t groan…you know you love Olaf and the gang.
How much: Free!

New Year’s Eve Flamingo Formal
When: Wednesday, December 31, 6pm-2am
Where: The Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club, 514 Union Street
What: The call is to “don your best black, white, and pink” while dancing, drinking, and of course, playing some shuffleboard. They’ll have free shuffleboard challenge courts, Flamingo surprises, and a free pink champagne toast at midnight.
How much: No cover.

15 For 2015: A Flashback New Year’s Eve
When: Wednesday, December 31, 10pm
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: They’re going 15 years into the backlog for a night covering the music of 1989 to 2004, so you can dance into the new year while reminiscing about the old ones.
How much: $5 at the door.

Fireworks In Prospect Park
When: Wednesday, December 31, 11pm/fireworks at midnight
Where: Grand Army Plaza
What: If you’re sticking close to home this New Year’s Eve, Prospect Park is the place to be as the clock inches toward 2015. Starting at 11pm, there will be music and hot chocolate, but the real show starts at midnight, when the sky will come alive with one of the city’s best fireworks displays. Set up camp anywhere from 9th Street to Grand Army on Prospect Park West, or inside the park along West Drive to see the show.
