Our Princess Is In Another Castle!

Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: Join your fellow nostalgic nerds as the skint presents a night of old school gaming. Bobby Phobia and Steve Heisler host the friendly competition that could win players prizes and drinks.

Crash Avenue & Mecca Lecca CMJ Showcase
When: Tuesday, October 15, 6:30pm
Where: The Rock Shop, 249 4th Avenue
What: CMJ is this week, which means tons and tons of exciting new music to discover all over the city. The Rock Shop has a few nights of shows (see their full calendar), but this one is one of the free ones in the fest, and features: SWF, Christopher Paul Stelling, Howth, Dinosaur Bones, The Darcys, Unicycle Loves You, and Elder/Brother.

Knights of Bruklyn Home Brew Competition
When: Tuesday, October 15, 7pm
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: With promises of beer, cheese, and beer cheese, how can you resist? Ten brewers will pour their creations for prizes, bragging rights, and a chance for advancement to the yearly finals.
How much: Free!

Shades of Noir: Double Indemnity
When: Wednesday, October 15, 6:30pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: The library’s excellent film series continues with one of the best examples fron the genre. Co-written by Raymond Chandler and Billy Wilder and starring Barbara Stanwyck, Fred McMurry, and Edward G. Robinson, it’s about an insurance salesman lured into a murder plot by a seductive housewife. But can they make the murder look like an accident, to double the insurance payout?
