Looking for something fun to do this week to remind you that spring is on the horizon (despite what the forecast may say)? From a group run in Prospect Park, to a screening of a Brooklyn-based classic, to a new weekly bingo series, there’s plenty to get out and enjoy in the neighborhood. Group Run In Prospect Park
When: Monday, March 10, 7pm
Where: Meet at Lefferts Historic House
What: The days are longer and the temps are warming up, so why not join Shape Up NYC’s Couch to 5k program in Prospect Park? The group class meets every Monday evening, and combines walking, running, and conditioning exercises to help you shape up for long distance running. No RSVP or registration is required.

Screening: The Weight Of The Nation Part 2: Choices
When: Tuesday, March 11, 7pm
Where: Park Slope Food Coop, 782 Union Street
What: The Plow to Plate series presents this documentary that takes a look at weight loss an maintenance, and some of the science behind it all. Refreshments — we’re assuming healthy ones — will be served.
How much: Free to both members and non-members!

Secret Science Club: The Origins Of Good And Evil
When: Tuesday, March 11, 8pm (doors 7:30pm)
Where: The Bell House, 149 7th Street
What: According to developmental psychologist Paul Bloom’s research, people are born with a moral compass, but it’s just not perfectly calibrated. He’ll be on hand to talk about his latest book, Just Babies: The Origins of Good and Evil. Hear about human morals, drink the special ‘Right Amount of Wrong’ cocktail, join a Q&A, and grab a signed copy of the book.

Screening: A Tree Grows In Brooklyn
When: Wednesday, March 12, 6:30pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: See the 1945 film adaptation — Elia Kazan’s directorial debut — of the classic novel by Betty Smith at this screening that’s curated and hosted by Glenn Kenny.
How much: Free!

Wednesday Night Bingo
When: Wednesday, March 12, 7-10pm
Where: Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club, 514 Union Street
What: The new shuffleboard venue introduces its weekly bingo night at this inaugural session, hosted by the superfun Murray Hill and Linda Simpson.
How much: Free admission, $2 per bingo card
