Here’s a look back at some stories you might have missed this week:

• A massive windfall in funds is coming in 2016 to dozens of Brooklyn cultural institutions and libraries thanks to an investment of over $8 million in funds from Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams.

• Open Source Gallery’s Soap Box Derby and Workshop culminated in a race down 17th Street on Saturday.

• Wednesday, August 26 was National Dog Day – a day to celebrate all things canine. In honor of this special day, we interviewed one of our neighbors, Leroy Brown.

• Longevity in theater companies is always something to celebrate. But 49 seasons? It’s a remarkable accomplishment for The Gallery Players.

• We’re happy to report that Woops! Macarons opened at 620 5th Avenue. You’re in for quite a few choices of sweet treats. And you’re in for some surprises, too.

• Looking for a dog to call your own? How about Abby?
