Here’s a look back at some stories you might have missed this week:
• Park Slope resident and filmmaker Alex Ross Perry has quite a one-two punch of film projects at the moment. Queen of Earth opened this week.
• The Park Slope community suffered a great loss when three members of the Mulvaney family — Ledell, 61, Donald, 63, and their daughter Katherine (Kat), 31 — were in a car crash.
• Beloved comic book shop Bergen Street Comics announced that the store will be closing its doors sometime in September.
• We reviewed the delicious Palo Santo for our Brunch Beat. There is a feeling of warmth and familiarity that comes from the delicate preparation clearly visible from the open kitchen area in the front room.
• Veteran chefs Kakusaburo Sakurai and Ryota Kitagawa have opened Wasan at 440 Bergen Street. And another Japanese restaurant is on its way.
• Rarely is there good news about a closing. And although we’ll be sad to see Loom close its doors, it’s a bit more of an uplifting story than usual.
• We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Christian Ortiz, BK9’s executive chef, to discuss an array of subjects.
• Recent lewd incidents in close near a playground in Prospect Park have caused great concern among some parents in the community.
