Wednesday: MBCG Meeting To Feature NY Rising Speaker

The next meeting of the Manhattan Beach Community Group will be tomorrow, October 23, 8:00 p.m. at Public School 195, 131 Irwin Street.

Scheduled speakers include a representative from New York Rising, Governor Cuomo’s initiative to develop grassroots planning for storm resiliency. A meeting held earlier this month for the Sheepshead Bay area saw residents offering their own proposals to protect from future disasters, which will be studied by the state.

“Please help us send a direct message to [the state] about our streets, storm basins, sewer lines, Sheepshead Bay and the Atlantic Ocean,” MBCG President Ira Zalcman wrote in the event’s announcement. “This is your chance to present other ideas.”

The meeting will also feature opportunities to discuss community news and issues. A number of public officials will be in attendance.
