Wednesday Crime Blotter: Copper Pipes Stolen from Construction Site, A Wayward Gunshot in a Robbery Struggle & More

CROWN HEIGHTS – Two suspects robbed a 60-year old man in the hallway of his Crown Heights residence on Monday, firing a gunshot in the process.

The incident occurred just before 1:00 pm on Monday, July 30, in the area of Lincoln Place and Buffalo Avenue, said police. The two suspects approached the victim and demanded his money, said police, and when he struggled with the robbers, one of them discharged a firearm, striking the door. Luckily, no one was hurt.

The thieves went through the man’s pockets and fled with about $200. Surveillance photos of the pair can be seen below:

CYPRESS HILLS – Police are looking for two men who boosted copper pipes from a Cypress Hills construction site last week.

Around noon on Friday, July 27, the two suspects entered the construction site at 3084 Fulton Street, near Highland Place, and began removing copper pipes, police said. When a 49-year old man confronted the two, they pushed him to the ground and fled the scene with the stolen pipes.

The men fled in a late model Honda Accord with Virginia plate# VSF 514 and can be seen in surveillance photos below:

EAST NEW YORK – Two men attempted a robbery of a service station in East New York earlier this month, causing property damage but failing to steal anything. Now, police are looking for them.

The incident occurred on Saturday, July 14, around 2:00 am, at the F&S Service Station at 2557 Linden Boulevard, across from the Cypress Hills Houses. The two men attempted to break in through a security gate, succeeding only in damaging the gate, then decided to scale a wall. While making the ascent, they damaged both the building itself and a security camera, said police.

Ultimately, the unsuccessful burglars left the scene empty-handed. Their photos, however, were captured by surveillance cameras:
