Some local students got to eat the kind of super fancy meal that grown-ups may never even get to experience, and the results, caught on camera, are just as silly as you might expect.

The New York Times brought six PS 295 second graders to the two-Michelin-starred restaurant Daniel to try the $220 seven-course tasting menu, which included dishes like smoked paprika cured hamachi and lemon-scented madeleines. Much like The Bold Italic’s version of this experiment, the reactions from the kids are, obviously, adorable. For example, some of their comments include:

“Why do I have two knives?”
“I can’t wait until we have dessert.”
“I can’t believe I’m gonna eat fish eggs.”

The steak got the highest praise, and the kids raised their glasses in a toast to “justice at all” and “vampires.” Basically, if you need a bit of a lift on this Monday, be sure to check out the video.
