Watch Out for Dry Ice Bombs
Scary report from a neighbor:
Was just at Dill Stewart Playground on Crooke and Parade where I saw a kid throw what I’ve learned is a dry ice bomb – dry ice and water – which explodes with a deep bang, louder and fuller than a gunshot. Called the cops, but couldn’t be sure exactly which kid did it, and they all scattered once police arrived. Realized now that that’s what I’ve been hearing around here. Just a heads up. Kid threw it halfway across the playground near to a young child and his mother.
Dry ice bombs are illegal in some places, both because the of the flying shards of bottle and bits of dry ice, and because the sound they emit is so loud it can cause permanent hearing damage. If you see anyone fooling around with one, call the police immediately.
