Get ready to kick back, eat some popcorn and watch a free outdoor movie with your neighbors this Saturday, July 11 and next Saturday, July 18.

The Flatbush Development Corporation will be showing “Back To The Future” at 8:30pm on July 11 and “E.T.” at 8:30pm on July 18. Everyone is welcome to attend the free screenings, which will be shown at Cortelyou Road and E. 17th Street.

The Flatbush Food Co-op will provide free popcorn for the evenings, and prior to the movie, there will be a free bounce house for kids from 6:30-8:30pm and live performances from the nearby Latin Fever Dance Studio.

Plus, beginning at 5pm, merchants will set up displays and merchandise outside on the sidewalk, and shops will be offering various specials, including deals on haircuts at Junior’s Barber Shop (1617 Cortelyou Road, between E. 16th and E. 17th Streets). There will also be caricatures by Kenly Dillard at the Brooklyn ARTery from 5-7pm.

On July 18, Jr. Bella’s Pizza & Pasta will provide an appetizer sampler.

Neighbors who plan on attending are asked to bring blankets and lawn chairs with them for the party in the street, which is being sponsored by Assemblyman Jim Brennan, Dr. Lois A. Jackson of Pediatric Dentistry and Judge Michael Gerstein.

During the festivities, Cortelyou Road will be closed to traffic from E. 17th Street to Coney Island Avenue. Cross streets will remain open.
