Want A Cool Skate Park In Red Hook? Parks Department Wants Your Input
RED HOOK – This Friday, November 3rd, head over to the Harold Ickes Playground in Red Hook, where the NYC Parks Department will be holding a Skate Fair (3-5pm) and community input session for a new skate park at the playground (5-6pm).
NYC Parks Brooklyn Borough Commissioner Martin Maher, City Council Members Carlos Menchaca and Brad Lander will be there, as well as various skate park designers and manufacturers who will have tables and demos at the park ahead of the meeting to discuss the $3 million skate park project that was funded equally by Borough President Adams, and council members Menchaca and Lander.
The playground is located right across the Tesla showroom, above the Hugh L. Carey tunnel entrance. More about how this idea came about in this clip from News 12
