The Fall is an amazing time of year for running, and races are scheduled almost every weekend in the comfortable weather.

The Prospect Park Track Club (PPTC) is here to help if your community group wants to plan one of a variety of running events. And they’re putting their money where their glutes are.

As part of their mission, PPTC supports running in Brooklyn — and that support is not limited to their members.

The Prospect Park Track Club Board & Grants Committee tells us that the Grants Program “will consider requests up to $1,000 from organizations that promote running in Brooklyn, including (but not limited to) educational programs, after-school groups, and charities.”

As part of the grant, groups applying do not need 501(c)(3) status. This opens the application process to a wide swath of the community.

The application can be found on the PPTC Grant Program web page.

So get planning quickly, because the deadline for applications in this cycle is Thursday, October 15 at 5:00 pm. PPTC plans to announce the recipient program(s) on Thursday, October 29.

And if you don’t think you’ll have time for the Fall round, get planning for the Spring. PPTC plans to do a second grant round in early 2016.
