Walgreens/Key Food May Open In December

The summer edition newsletter from Brooklyn Borough President and Windsor Terrace neighbor Marty Markowitz has a brief mention about the new Walgreens/Key Food project that is currently under construction at 589 Prospect Avenue. Those who have been following the project probably know all the details in the blurb, but one interesting bit at the end is that it notes that the stores should open in December, about a year and a half after the old Key Food there closed.

Earlier estimations had the shared 14,149-square-foot space opening as early as July or August, but since the application to build wasn’t approved until May, that opening date ended up being pushed to “fall.”

Here’s hoping it’s really open before the end of the year!
