Walgreens Construction Starting Soon: Don’t Park Your Car In The Lot!
According to a sign posted on the fence around the parking lot, Walgreens will begin construction at the former Key Food site at 589 Prospect Avenue in Windsor Terrace on or about Wednesday, June 5. If you or anyone you know has been parking in that lot, be sure to move that car — they will tow any vehicles parked there at the owner’s expense.
Thanks to Ryan Lynch, who shared the pic above, which was provided by a Walgreens rep — the rep also noted that signs have been placed on cars to let those currently parked there know they’ve got to move them, but if you can help spread the word, please do.
According to the Department of Buildings, the new construction, which will allow both a Walgreens and a Key Food to operate here, will add nearly 3,000 square feet to the building. There will be 45 parking spaces (even though only 38 are required with the zoning) and 6 bicycle parking spaces provided. The estimated cost of the project is about $775,000.
No word on how long construction will take, but we’ll keep you posted.
