If you’d like to join your neighbors for one of the next park cleanups this autumn, sign up now. There will be two volunteer days this October: Saturday, October 3, and Saturday, October 17.

September cleanups have already yielded “serious dents in the already impressive autumn leaf drops” and have “helped spread mulch from the park’s leaf bins around new liriope beds at the northeast entrance,” announced the Fort Greene Park Conservancy in an email.

” The leaves from this year’s fall will go back into the bins to help bolster the park’s mulch supplies for next year — just another way Park Director Dave Barker and the rest of Fort Greene Park’s Greene team are making sure we keep our park Brooklyn’s greenest,” they added.

Sign up here if you like to help with the headcount, or just show up if your schedule works out at the last minute!

(Note: This story has been updated to correct the first volunteer date: It’s Saturday, October 3, not Sunday, October 4.)
