BKLYNER Brings the Summer Camp Fair to you

Despite the light dusting of snow and cold weather families from across Brooklyn came to the Camp Expo and Activity Fair at P.S. 139 last Sunday.  Families had the chance to meet camp reps and kids could try their hand a variety of activities from stop motion filmmaking and guitar lessons to tumbling, martial arts, and an indoor campsite.

Alden Moves

At ALDEN MOVES Dance Theater, young dancers leap ahead one step at a time—and summer is the perfect time for new students to leap right in and for all students to fine tune technique! In addition to daily dance classes, our summer dancers explore film, delve into costume and set design, and experiment with different styles including ballet, theater jazz, and modern dance. BAX’s Summer Arts Program draws from their year-round education programs to provide young artists with opportunities to explore different forms of art and performance each week (including visual art, circus, dance, theater, tumbling, and music) while working towards an informal performance or gallery sharing. Guest arts specialists teach daily workshops, while a well-trained staff of group leaders and counselors support indoor and outdoor play and performance activities.

Backyard Basecamp is a youth mountaineering program.

Backyard Basecamp

Based in Brooklyn and the surrounding mountains, we take 2nd – 7th graders camping, hiking, and backpacking. Basecampers face challenges where teamwork and tenacity are essential. We teach wilderness skills, environmental protection, and grow resilience, empathy, and self-respect. Your child will experience a summer that is simple, unplugged, and close to nature.

Register today for a two-week session. Week one is day-camp style based in Prospect Park. Week two is a sleep-away camp at Harriman State Park. Drop off & Pick up is near Grand Army Plaza.

Summer 2018 has tons of fun, excitement, and adventure in store for Marks JCH campers ages 2-14. With trips for children of all ages to Sesame Place, Hershey Park, Dorney Park, Outdoor Adventure Courses, Museums, Zoos, and Theater all over NYC and beyond. Our youngest campers enjoy professional performances without ever leaving our facility, daily swimming, gymnastics, and other developmental activities.
