Republican Congressman Bob Turner appeared this Monday before the Manhattan Beach Neighborhood Association, speaking to the audience and answering questions for nearly half an hour.
Top issue of the day? Israel and Iran, on which Turner bashed the policies of President Barack Obama, and touted exploring the nuclear option.
“The Israelis understand [a nuclear Iran] is an existential threat and they will respond as they must. And if they do, they will need our support,” he said, adding that he believes if action is to be taken, it will happen within the next few months.
Turner also spoke about the opening of his new district office, his recently announced bid to challenge United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (in light of the elimination of his district), and his support of the NYPD’s intelligence gathering on Arab-Americans.
