Video: Sanitation Dept. Answers Community Questions

Department of Sanitation Community Affairs Officer Iggy Terranova attended last night’s Sheepshead Bay / Plumb Beach Civic Association meeting, answering questions from the public about sanitation laws and keeping the neighborhood clean.

Do you know that lids are required when you put your garbage can out (but that there are ways around it)? Or that you’re responsible for cleaning 18 inches into the street in front of your home? How about challenging fees without going downtown? Terranova responded to a battery of questions, and also explained how New York City’s Strongest can help you settle garbage-related disputes with your neighbors. Watch to video to find out more.
