Urban Martial Arts Welcomes New Black Belts With Mini-Documentary
Urban Martial Arts held their first black belt exam back in June, and have just released a mini-documentary about their students’ journey through the five-hour test.
Students of all ages were asked to spar for 10 rounds without a break, write an essay about what becoming a black belt meant to each of them, and complete other tasks throughout the exam.
“It was a big milestone for us since this was our first-ever class of black belt graduates,” says UMA’s Carmen Sognonvi. “We’re so proud of the strength, dedication, and perseverance our students showed that day.”
Between the music, the shots, and the ultimately-rewarding struggle, the mini-doc is not only thoroughly epic, but also thoroughly rewarding to watch. Check out the video, and then more about the exam at Urban Martial Arts.
