Once Upon A Time On Flatbush Avenue
Neighbor Lisa Witler snapped this great photo today of a piece of our neighborhood’s history – the Oldsmobile sign at Avenue D and Flatbush Avenue.
Apparently, the sign, once upon a time, belonged to Gaines Motor Company, which, decades ago, operated at 1217-1219 Flatbush Avenue, commenters on Scouting New York said. (One commenter even seemed to know the old phone number of the spot: tel BU4-3300.)
