Several people have asked us what the status of construction is over at the Willoughby Avenue entrance to Fort Greene Park and after asking around, it still seems to be on track for a November completion.

Construction was “50 percent complete” back in May and is now listed as being 57 percent complete by the NYC Parks Capital Projects Tracker.

The at least $1.4 million project has already installed new sewers, pipes, and catch basins. Current work includes laying granite curb edging.

However, as neighbor Mark Richardson told us, “I haven’t seen anyone working there in a month.”

Apparently, that lack of activity is due to the contractor waiting for approval on revisions to the design for a historic wall, as well as revisions to the drainage system plan.

Those revisions are reportedly still in the pipeline, so to speak, and is slated to be done in time for construction to still finish in November, although as Charles Jarden of the Fort Greene Park Conservancy noted a year ago when construction officially began, work could take closer to 18 months, putting completion at spring/summer 2016.
