Upcoming Events At Local Synagogues

Here’s some of what’s coming up at a few of our local synagogues:

• Temple Beth Emeth (83 Marlborough Road at Church Avenue) welcomes back its free Shalom Shabbat program on Fridays at 10am. Children under five (or not yet in school) and their caregivers are invited to join Rabbi Heidi Hoover for half an hour of songs and blessings to welcome Shabbat, concluding with challah and juice.

• A family-friendly Sabbath service and Dinner Under the Stars will be held at the Flatbush Jewish Center (327 E 5th Street at Church Avenue) on Friday, August 16, at 6pm, complete with Moroccan and Middle Eastern foods. Adult admission is $15, kids over five $5, and kids under five are free. Reserve your spot via PayPal or call 718-871-5200 before Wednesday, August 14.

• The East Midwood Jewish Center (1625 Ocean Avenue between Avenues K and L) is hosting a Lunch & Learn with Cantor Sam Levine. Following services on Saturday, August 24, join in a discussion of the liturgy of the high holidays in the Regency Room at 12pm.
