Unique Jeans May Hold Key To Identifying Woman’s Body
According to the Daily News, an unusual brand of jeans worn by the unidentified female corpse found on a rocky stretch of coast near the Belt Parkway and Bay 20th last week, could help investigators identify the body.
Believed to be between 18 and 25 years old, she was wearing a pair of “Only You” jeans, sources said yesterday.
The victim, who was killed by blows to the head and neck, had no identification on her, and neither her summer blouse nor anklets adorned with hearts provided clues to her identity.
The jeans she had on are not a common brand name, local merchants told officers. Detectives are hoping to find stores that sell the brand and check for credit receipts.
Police say the woman was killed approximately 24 hours before being found by a passerby. According to the News, the changing tides complicates the question of whether she was thrown in the water or not.
The woman is described as having both a manicure and pedicure and as either black or Hispanic; 5-feet-7, and 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black, curly hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
