The city may have shut down over a couple inches of snow, but that doesn’t mean locals were letting Winter Storm Juno keep them indoors.

By 1pm today, local parks were open and filled with school children, parents, neighbors, and dogs enjoying the day off. Powder-covered soccer fields and basketball courts proved to be the perfect battleground for snowball fights and fort-building.

“I love the snow, because there’s no school I can hang out with my friends and throw snowballs,” 3rd grader Leart Kabashi told us.

There were sleds and snowmen everywhere, but some park-goers struggled to get the snow to stick.

“We built a fort, but then we went to eat pizza, and it got destroyed,” said Sam Shork, a 6th grader at Bay Academy.

“Then we tried to build a snowman, but it didn’t work, because we didn’t have the right gloves,” added 6th grader Islombek Komilov.
