Two Jet Skiers Rescued Off The Shore Of Manhattan Beach

The NYPD confirmed that two jet skiers were rescued in the early evening Sunday off the coast of Manhattan Beach.

According to a tweet posted the next day by the 61st Precinct, the couple was safely pulled from the water after their jet ski tipped over. Officers from the NYPD’s Special Operations Division, along with staff from the FDNY, assisted in the rescue.

There have been several other rescues in the waters off Manhattan Beach in the last few years.

Last year, two rescue swimmers swam out from the shore of Kingsborough Community College to save a man struggling in the sea. The rescue was successful and the man was taken to Coney Island Hospital for further care.

Lifeguards saved an 85-year-old woman from drowning in 2012 after she was spotted floating off in the water off Manhattan Beach. She was given CPR on the shore and taken to Coney Island Hospital in critical condition.
