The Shack is closed for business.

As of today, two Fulton Street Radio Shacks — at 457 Fulton (near Jay Street) and 1232 Fulton (between Nostrand and Bedford Avenues) — are officially closed. The two stores were part of a nationwide sale and restructuring effort that is seeing at least 1,784 stores close — including 14 in Brooklyn.

As we noted earlier this month, bankruptcy proceedings led to the closures.

Other Brooklyn Radio Shacks that are no more includes ones in Crown Heights, East Williamsburg, Canarsie, Midwood, Bensonhurst, Sheepshead Bay and Brighton Beach.

Overall, 162 stores nationwide closed as of February 17, today marks the end of an additional 986 stores, and a third/final wave will shutter 636 stores.

Radio Shack filed for bankruptcy on February 5 as part of its deal with hedge fund Standard General to sell them up to 2,400 of their stores, while closing thousands more.

Will you miss these Shacks? What would you like to see in their place?
