Two Chances to Learn About Native Plants This Weekend

It’s NYC Wildflower Week, and neighbor Chris Kreussling, aka Flatbush Gardener, is hosting two tours to celebrate, including one at the Flatbush Reformed Church:

Union Square Greenmarket Booth & Native Garden Tour
Saturday, May 12, 8am-3pm
Union Square Park at Union Square West Greenmarket
Stop by the Manager’s tent to get information on NYC’s natural areas and native plants, and get free native seedlings (while supplies last). We’ll have sustainable gardening demonstrations and share tips on attract butterflies and birds with native plants. Guided tours of the Native Plant Garden in Union Square at 10am and 2pm. Special guest Flatbush Gardener will share his native flora knowledge and experience transforming his backyard into a wildlife habitat.

On Sunday May 13 the Sustainable Flatbush native plant streetscape will be part of NYC Wildflower Week’s Brooklyn Neighborhood Garden Tour. Sustainable Flatbush Advisory Board member Chris Kreussling will explain what’s in the garden and why. This tour is free and open to the public.
