Two Brooklyn Men Sentenced For Possessing LSD, MDMA & Hundreds Of Pounds Of Marijuana

Acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced today that two Brooklyn men were sentenced to prison for possessing a large variety of drugs including LSD, MDMA, marijuana, and steroids, as well as a firearm and more than $100,000 in cash.

Philip Feng, 37, of Brooklyn Heights, was sentenced to five years in prison following his plea last month to second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a firearm, and first-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Victor Bae, 36, of Greenpoint, was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison following his plea last month to third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first degree criminal possession of marijuana.

On March 9, 2016, a NYPD detective, following a tip from the Department of Homeland Security, observed the defendants loading boxes onto a U-Haul truck at a freight distribution center on Maspeth Avenue in East Williamsburg. The officer followed the truck and then pulled it over on a street in Greenpoint. Feng was driving the truck with a suspended license. He told the officer that they were moving personal items from California to a warehouse at 234 Java Street in Greenpoint, according to Gonzalez’s statement.

The officer recovered approximately 350 pounds of marijuana from the truck. After obtaining a search warrant, investigators went to the Greenpoint warehouse and found an additional 150 pounds of marijuana, a loaded .22-caliber revolver, packs of PCP, hundreds of vials of steroids, 188 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, approximately 200 vials of liquid THC, quantities of LSD, MDMA and methylone, liquid codeine, edible marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and $152,736 in cash. Feng and Bae were ordered to forfeit the cash, according to the announcement.

The search also uncovered personal items belonging to Bae and documents linking Feng to the warehouse.

“These defendants were in possession of large amounts of narcotics – many of them highly dangerous – that were intended to be distributed on Brooklyn streets,” Gonzalez said in the announcement. “We remain vigilant against all drug dealers seeking to peddle poison on the streets of Brooklyn and today’s sentence is an appropriate penalty for this crime.”
