Two Boots To Close, Reopen As New Business After Renovation
Well this is a sad couple of weeks for Park Slope eaters — first we lose Sweet Melissa, and now FiPS brings word that Two Boots will be closing on Sunday, November 10.
The restaurant and bar at 514 2nd Street has been feeding and entertaining kids and adults with live music and more since 1989, but that’s about to end, as two of its owners will close the space (and their partner and founder John Touhey will retire) to renovate it and turn it into something new. Via Facebook:
YES, it’s the end of an era… our beloved local haunt (TWO BOOTS of BROOKLYN) will officially close it’s doors after 24 years of service & dedication. But do not fret… a fantastic rebirth awaits as ANDY & PIPER plan to conduct major renovations to the interior/exterior of the venue this Winter.
These changes will (hopefully) be completed before Spring 2014. The transformation will present a NEW brand… a NEW entity. All while maintaining their warm, signature hospitality, unique culinary offerings & fun line-up of entertainment.
With so many special memories to cherish, it’s tough not to shed a tear. But the staff & owners can’t wait to start anew… fresh, fine-tuned & fonkee as ever!!!
They’ll be hosting the final organ jazz jam for the next several months tonight, Monday, November 4 at 9pm, featuring Judd Neilsen on organ, Alistair Sim on guitar, and Darryl Baker on drums, so drop in, join the jam or just listen, and raise a glass to a Park Slope institution.
