Silent Festival

Thanks to the Pavilion Theatre (188 Prospect Park West), silent movie fans won’t have to wait until Celebrate Brooklyn to catch a glimpse of life before talkies.

DNA reported that the Prospect Park West theatre introduced its silent film festival on April 3 with a showing of 1925’s Phantom of the Opera, complete with live musical accompaniment from the Andrew Alden Ensemble.

Three showings remain, including The Lost World on April 24, Nosferatu on May 1, and Battleship Potemkin on May 8.

All shows begin at 8pm. Tickets are $15 (cash only) and only available on the day of the show. Be sure to visit the Pavilion’s website or Facebook page for more information.
