Trash Collection Delayed, Alternate Side Parking Suspended & More Snow On The Way
Thanks to Monday’s winter storm, garbage and recycling collection is delayed on Tuesday, as workers continue snow removal operations around the city — and the city has issued a snow alert starting at 10pm tonight. DSNY asks residents to remove any snow from garbage that is already out, and to make sure that bags are placed in a spot that is “accessible to sanitation workers.”
As it has been for much of 2014, alternate side parking is once again suspended, and will be suspended again on Wednesday. All meters are still in effect, though, so don’t forget to feed the Muni.
New York City is also under a Winter Storm Warning from midnight tonight until 6pm on Wednesday. The National Weather Service is calling for another 3 to 5 inches of snow, plus a quarter of an inch of ice. Just what we need…
The New York City Office of Emergency Management has issued a Hazardous Travel Advisory for Wednesday, February 5, so avoid getting on the roads if at all possible. The plow tracker will be available on Wednesday starting at 6am.
We’ll be sure to update the site with any cancellations or delays for Wednesday as the next storm approaches.
