Thursday Night Lane Closures On Belt Parkway Near Bay Ridge, Expect Delays

Heads up: Starting at 10pm on Thursday, January 15, the left lane on the westbound and the left lane on the eastbound Belt Parkway at Bay Ridge Avenue (Exit 1) will be closed.

Then, starting at 12am on Friday, January 16, the full westbound roadway will be closed intermittently, as needed for installation of concrete deck beams within the center portion (current work zone) of the bridge. Full closures will last up to 15 minutes each, and each closure will not begin until the queue from the prior closure has dissipated.

All lanes will re-open to traffic on Friday at 5am.

The work is part of the Seven Bridges Project, a renovation of the highway’s seven bridges and overpasses that began in 2009, and will continue through March 2015.
