PARK SLOPE — A traffic agent was assaulted while he was issuing a parking violation ticket earlier last week.

On Tuesday, October 22 at around 12:30 p.m., an NYPD traffic agent was in the process of issuing a parking violation ticket on Fifth Avenue and 15th Street. As he was doing so, a man approached the agent and started yelling at him. It soon turned from verbal to physical, when the man proceeded to push the traffic agent and punched him in the face causing swelling and pain.

The man then entered a Red 2008 Jeep Wrangler and left the scene. The traffic agent was transported to NYU Langone-Brooklyn and is in stable condition.

Bklyner put the vehicle’s plate number on a Twitter bot to check how many tickets it has received. According to HowsMyDrivingNY, the vehicle has received 29 parking and camera violation tickets, including nine no parking/street cleaning, two double parking, one expired meter, and one no parking day/time limits.

Cops describe the suspect as a 30-to-40-year-old black man, 5’9” tall, weighing about 200 pounds. He is bald and was last seen wearing all dark clothing.
