A track fire near the Parkside Q subway platform caused major delays just before this morning’s rush hour, leaving neighbors more than a little frustrated as they waited for a Q that was forced to make express stops from Kings Highway to Parkside.

“We had to wait for about 20 minutes, and they said the trains were being rerouted,” neighbor Nick Kozak wrote to us about the track fire that happened a little after 7am Wednesday morning. “Everyone moved over to the Coney Island-bound side. Then, without warning, a Q rolls up on the Manhattan-bound side and WOOOSH, the mad rush of hundreds of people as they crawl up and down flights of stairs to get back to the platform and not be late for work. All the while, B trains were rolling by uninterrupted.”

Other neighbors wrote to us and slammed the MTA for not giving refunds if they paid to ride the Q at a local stop.

“I couldn’t get my money back; I couldn’t get to work on time — just another MTA fail,” neighbor Angela Ortiz wrote to us.
