Our Neighborhood Comedy show
When: Monday, November 28 at 9pm.
Where: Bar Chord, 1008 Cortelyou Road, between Coney Island Avenue and Stratford Road.
What: There’s nothing like laughter on a Monday night to start the week off right, especially with established and up-and-coming comics performing in our own neighborhood. Hosted by Derek Humphrey (MTV) and Matt Rain (UCB), this monthly comedy show will feature Brandon Scott Wolf, Perri Gross, Nasser Khan, Aaron Hertzog, Anne Victoria Clark, and Jericho Davidson.
How Much: Free comedy show, but life is funnier after some drinks.

Town Hall Meeting for District 45
When: Tuesday, November 29 from 6pm to 8pm.
Where: P.S. 181,1023 New York Avenue between Snyder Avenue and Tilden Avenue.
What: Learn about city initiatives pertaining to quality of life, transportation, small businesses, and education, and ask questions to Council Member Jumaane Williams and representatives from city agencies. For more info, contact Farah Louis-Drayton at 718-629-2900.

70th Precinct Community Council Meeting
When: Wednesday, November 30 at 7:30pm.
Where: 175 Lawrence Avenue between Seton Place & Ocean Parkway.
What: Learn about local crime and ask questions to Deputy Inspector James R. Palumbo at the monthly meeting of the community council.
How Much: Free

Händel’s “Messiah” at Brooklyn College PAC
When: Wednesday, November 30 at 7pm.
Where: Walt Whitman Theater at Brooklyn College, 2900 Avenue H near Nostrand Avenue.
What: The Conservatory of Music of Brooklyn College Presents “Messiah” performed by the Brooklyn College Choral Union and the Conservatory Singers, and conducted by Malcolm J. Merriweather.
How Much: Tickets are $5, reserve yours here.

Holiday Soiree Benefit at Bluebird
When: Thursday, December 1 at 8pm.
Where: Bluebird restaurant, 504 Flatbush Avenue.
What: Celebrate community and prepare for the Flatbush Fest 2017 at this holiday benefit for the Flatbush Development Corp., featuring DJ Kanylion, raffles, a winter photo booth, and local food.
How Much: Suggested donation at the door.

‘I Stand With Standing Rock’ benefit show at the Owl
When: Thursday, December 1 at 8pm (doors at 7:30).
Where: The Owl Music Parlor, 497 Rogers Avenue between Midwood and Maple Streets.
What: Check out this benefit concert with an all-star lineup, including Aaron Dugan of Matisyahu, Elysian Fields, Plastic Passion, Jane, more.
How Much: $10 suggested donation.

Q Train: Ditmas Park’s only Queer Party
When: Thursday, December 1 from 8pm to 4am.
Where: Sycamore Bar, 1118 Cortelyou Road between Stratford and Westminster Roads.
What: The Q Train party returns to Sycamore every first Thursday of the month, this time featuring bingo hosted by Ariel Speedwagon at 8pm, DJ Jonathan Love at 10pm and a late-night performance by Ivy Ferriya.
How Much: Free, but don’t forget drinks at the bar.
