Tomorrow: NYC Parks Dept. To Discuss Capital Improvements For Cortelyou Road Tot Lot
Will the Cortelyou Road Tot Lot finally get the renovations community members have been hoping for?
Tomorrow, attend a meeting held by NYC Parks Department and Community Board 14 to hear the Park’s proposal for improving the Lt. Federico Narvaez Tot Lot, using capital improvement money allotted from the City Council’s budget.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 19 at 6pm, at the Community Board 14 office, 810 East 16th Street at the corner of Avenue H.
In June, we reported that Council Member Mathieu Eugene announced a $500k budget for renovations slated for the Tot Lot, a neighborhood playground on Cortelyou Road at Argyle Road whose deteriorating conditions have been a sore spot among local parents for years.
At that time, the budget details and arrangements for current on-site scope meeting had yet to be released by the Parks Department. We reached out to the Parks Department for confirmation on the budget but didn’t hear back by the time of publication today. We will follow up with more information.
“The Tot Lot has been on my list of priorities,” said Council Member Mathieu Eugene. “I’m confident this funding will ensure that the playground will be transformed into a fun — and more functional — space for our children.”
