If you’re looking for something fun – and free – to do with the kids tomorrow, Alden LaPaglia, of Alden Moves Dance Theater, let us know she’s offering a no-cost dance program (very “Frosty the Snowman meets Fred Astaire,” Alden said) at the Cortelyou Library (1305 Cortelyou Road).

The free dance event, which Alden said will have a winter wonderland theme, on January 21 will be offered in three sections for children ages 3-9. The sections are as follows:

  • 3-4 year olds + caregivers from 2:30-3:15pm
  • 5-6 year olds from 3:30-4:15pm
  • 7-9 year olds from 4:30-5:15pm

In a program that Alden said is “inspired by wintery standards from the Great American Songbook,” children can “join Alden in her signature warm-up and then practice steps that bring back the dapper charm of a bygone era.”

The program will culminate in a mini-performance for parents – all your child needs is a hat, scarf and some comfortable clothes.
