This week’s #ThrowbackThursday photograph shows a street bordering Fort Greene Park in 1974. Brooklyn native Danny Lyon photographed street scenes around New York City for the Environmental Protection Agency’s Documerica Project. From 1971 to 1977, freelance photographers documented environmental problems and everyday life throughout the United States. More than 15,000 digitized photographs from the project are available online at the U.S. National Archive.
