The Brooklyn Academy of Music opened its current building on Lafayette Avenue in 1908, five years after its first location, built in 1861 on Montague Street, burned to the ground. Its opening night featured the Metropolitan Opera performing Charles Gounod’s Faust. What have you seen lately at BAM, locals?
