Two men and one woman were wounded when gunfire broke out on Parkside Court, near Parkside Avenue, around 2am Saturday morning — one of a series of shootings that occurred during a particularly violent weekend in Brooklyn, and the city, the NYPD said.

A 34-year-old man was shot in the leg, the 47-year-old man was hit in the foot, and an 18-year-old woman was shot in the thigh on Parkside Court, close to Parkside Avenue (which is located between Ocean and Flatbush Avenues), police said. All three were treated for non-life threatening wounds at Kings County Hospital, according to the NYPD. There has been no arrest yet in the shooting, which was in the confines of the 71st Precinct, and the investigation is ongoing, police said this morning.

The shooting in our area came amidst numerous other violent incidents in Brooklyn, including Donnell Smith, 24, being fatally shot in Canarsie, a 46-year-old man being shot to death in Fort Greene, and at least nine people being injured during a shooting spree at a house party in East New York, police and various news reports said.

Following the bloodshed, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said he will be engaging in serious conversation about gun violence with residents across the borough. This morning, Adams is launching a week-long gun violence awareness campaign, details of which will be announced at 11am outside Borough Hall. Last night, Councilman Jumaane Williams condemned the violence and joined the family of Donnell Smith for a candlelit vigil at Glenwood Houses (E. 56th Street and Avenue H), where Smith was fatally shot.
